Caulophyllum thalictroides

Caulophyllum thalictroides

The unfurling reddish-purple leaves of this native are beautiful to behold in early spring. Once expanded, the foliage turns blue-green and provides handsome texture. In spring, the maroon, yellow-centered flowers appear above the foliage and give way in late summer to marble-sized berries that change from green to waxy blue-black. Native to eastern North America.

We are offering 3 year-old plants grown in quart pots.

Zones 3-8. 1-2 ft. Full to part shade, moist rich soil.
